Compound effect: Why should you never underestimate the power of compounding.

Domino effect: 🁭🁯 Do you know about the domino effect? If you know about it, then we'll done if you don't then let me explain. So, in the book 'The One Thing' by Gary Keller. He mentions that " In 1983, Lorne Whitehead wrote in the American Journal of Physics that he’d discovered that domino falls could not only topple many things, but they could also topple bigger things. He described how a single domino is capable of bringing down another domino that is actually 50 per cent larger. " You won't understand the power of the domino effect by a simple definition so let me explain it to you. Consider a domino 2 inches tall. So according to the definition, a domino can bring down another domino which is 50 percent larger. So the 2-inch domino can bring down a 3-inch domino and the 3-inch domino can bring down a 4.5-inch domino.  It's a geometric progression and you will be surprised to know that the 17th domino can topple a domino almost the size of the L

The only two things which men need

Men don't need a 10 inch penis, biggest muscles, smartest brain, most attractive face, perfect hairline and other stuff. The only two things which they need is discipline and patience.
A man only needs discipline and patience in whatever he does. Be it increasing his salary, building muscle, becoming more knowledgeable, becoming more attractive, being the best in one's field and other stuff. The only two things he needs is discipline and patience.

Discipline is required to show up everyday and do the work even if he likes it or not and patience to not get disheartened when he doesn't see any results.

What can't I remain motivated?
Actually no one can ever be motivated everyday, not even the ultra-successful people. It's just discipline and patience which takes them to these heights of greatness.

Now here are some things you should do when you have no motivation :

Start small
Suppose you have a lot of work to do and don't have the slightest of motivation to do it. So what should you do in this situation? Here's what should you do. Instead of waiting for motivation you should start small.
For example, if you have to study a chapter but don't feel like doing it, then aim to study only 5 pages. After studying about 5 pages you will feel like completing the whole chapter most of the time. This is why you should start small.

Don't do anything destructive
If you absolutely don't want to do work then here's my advice. Don't do anything destructive. Like if you don't want to exercise a particular day then it's fine but don't go out during that time to drink some beer or munch on junk food because that's destructive. Instead use that time to prepare a good meal and research about exercise or go out for a walk. It's much better than drinking beer or eating junk food.

Force yourself to do the hard things
"Do the hard thing even if you don't feel like doing it"
This is the literal definition of discipline.

Discipline is just doing the hard thing even if you feel like doing it or not. Suppose you don't have the motivation to work on a project that's absolutely crucial for you. Instead of waiting for motivation just sit down and get to work. You will find that after a certain amount of time you will have the motivation to work.

Do some good things even on your worst days
Suppose you want to be a fitness model but you absolutely don't want to workout on a particular day. Then instead of lying on bed all day, go out for a walk and eat clean it's still progress and it's far better than lying on bed.

Discipline is not what "THE ROCK" shows you
You have probably seen in some motivational videos where "the rock" tells you about how he wakes up at 4 am in the morning and is like "Yeah let's do it!". Trust me even he is not like that all the time.

Even he has some days when he's like "I am too tired to work today, I just want to relax today". In those times, instead of relying on motivation he relies on discipline. He will go to the gym no matter what and do his workout. This is just an example to show you why men need discipline in life.

It's not motivation it's patience and consistency that gives results
You watch a youtube video about 'exercising and it's benefits' and become very motivated to exercise. You then workout for about 2-3 weeks with very high intensity but then you don't see any results and give up.

If you had remain consistent and showed up everyday for exercising then surely you would have built an aesthetic physique.

In this case it's the patience that has kept you optimistic during your fitness journey and it's consistency that has shown the results.

Make a task list
This is a very crucial part for building discipline.

Make a task list and place the most important tasks of the day in the top and try to complete those tasks everyday.

This is a very important step for building discipline because it will force you to do a certain task even if you feel like doing it or not and once you have done that task and ticked the check box then you will get a sense of instant pleasure.

Trust me the feeling of having an empty task list at the end of the day is so good.

Advantages of having a task list
There are many advantages of having a task list but in this article I will tell you only a few of them.

The most important advantage is that you save a lot of mental energy. You will spend a lot of energy each day thinking what you should do during the day but making a task list will save you a lot of mental energy because you will already know what you need to do after a particular task.

The second advantage is that you will build discipline. The feeling of having an empty task list at the end of the day will force you to do the tasks even if you like it or not. And having discipline in your life will allow you to reach your most ambitious goals and reach to the status of a high value man.

Okay these two advantages are enough.

Now another thing to keep in mind that, in the task list, you should write the tasks that are directly related to your success. Like on my task list the most important tasks are
1) Blog writing
2) Blog promotion
3) Study

Then the medium priority tasks are
1) Skin care
2) Exercise
3) Book reading
4) News reading
5) learning Javascript

Although these tasks are important but these are not directly related to my success.

In this way I arrange my task list and an important thing to note is I try do the most important things almost everyday.

Discipline is like going to autopilot mode
I have told you multiple times that when you don't have any motivation then go ahead and do the task no matter what. In this case autopilot mode comes into play.

Discipline is like going to autopilot mode and doing what you are supposed to do. In an aircraft an autopilot is used to control the plane when the pilots are resting (this is not the perfect definition).  When you don't want to do something during the course of the day just go ahead and shift to autopilot mode and do what you are supposed to do.

It's easy to be disciplined when you have momentum
You are starting a new business. You work on it for several months but don't see any results. You get disheartened and don't want to work on your business any further but suddenly your business starts earning money. Now you have the momentum and you are now happy to work on your business now you can be easily disciplined because you have momentum. In the earlier case it was difficult for you to remain disciplined because you didn't have the momentum in life. You were not seeing the results before your eyes so how will you have momentum but once you have momentum being disciplined is easy and fun.

Patience
I have talked enough about why you need discipline so now it's time for patience.

Suppose you decide to learn a language. Will you be able to learn the language in a week's time. Most probably not.

Learning a language requires time and if you don't have patience then you won't be able to stick to the end and see the end result. Without patience all of a man's hardwork just goes in vain.

Let me explain with one more example. Many people want to lose weight but many of them quit dieting quite early because they didn't see the results. Many people quit meditation because they don't see the results. Remember one things good things take time and a man needs patience to stick to the end.

The calendar effect
Have you ever had that feeling when you just wanted to do start a new habit but postponed it till January 1st.

This is coined by Kris sturmney as the calendar effect and it means that many people tend to postpone tasks to a date which suits them and not on the day itself.

Don't be a prey of the calendar effect. Never wait for the right time. Have some amount of discipline and do the task on that particular day itself.

No one wants to get success slowly
Many people want to achieve success overnight. They want to get rich overnight without putting any work in. That's why lottery works well in this world.

Be willing to put the work in and have some discipline and patience and slowly you will find yourself climbing up the stairs of success.

Why this article doesn't suit women
This article talks about having discipline and patience. Look a guy can start working hard in his 20s and achieve success in his 30s. A women can also do that but if she goes on to do this then she won't retain the beauty that she had when she was younger and she would become undesirable to many men.

Conclusion

1) Have discipline not motivation because discipline will allow you to show up everyday for work.
2) Patience is necessary to keep on doing the work even when you don't see the results.
3)Be grateful that you are born as a man.
4)Enjoy success after you have put in enough work.
